See the downloads page of the site for the final proposals that we have submitted to Bristol City Council as part of the Area Green Spaces Strategy process. These include priorities for the children's play area, the Ardagh and the Common itself.
We have, and will continue to feed your views into the document as we move forward with the process - please keep in touch and let us know what you think?
PROJECT ARDAGH UPDATE MAY 2011
Project Ardagh
Plans to improve the facilities at the Ardagh for the Summer 2011 are well underway, which will help to keep the site open and improve access to it whilst longer term planning takes place.
The Bishopston, Cotham & Redland Neighbourhood Partnership has awarded FOHC & ABSC funding for materials to re-open the public toilets on the site and make some improvements to the grounds & as soon as the money is available to us, you should see volunteers busy making this happen! If you would like to help with this – please let us know.
THANK YOU TO ALL OF THE VOLUNTEERS WHO ARE ALREADY WORKING HARD TO MAKE THE ARDAGH SITE AVAILABLE FOR USE BY ALL WHILE LONGER TERM PLANNING ABOUT THE SITE’S FUTURE TAKES PLACE
For the Summer 2011, we would like to:
1. Refurbish & re-open the public toilets on the site (funding has been achieved for this – we are just waiting for the go ahead from BCC)
2. Resolve the licence for the Sports Club so that it is not just able to be used by members & open the building for refreshments through the Summer when possible (we are currently seeking agreement from BCC to do this & also funding to enable us to do this!)
3. Re-paint the lines on the Tennis Courts (Sunday 15th May is planned for this!)
4. Reinstate the pitch & putt and a dog-free grass area inside the Ardagh (we are seeking funding for fencing and the hire of specialist equipment to pursue this)
5. Encourage all who would like to to use the site (ongoing! ALL ARE WELCOME!)
6. Improve the grounds and gardens for all to enjoy (ongoing! Enjoy!)
7. Encourage as wide a range of people to get involved as possible - we will let people know about the wide range of ways in which they can get further involved in the project at the FOHC AGM on Weds 18th May 2011 & post details here as soon as possible afterwards - come along & join us!
